Menu Plan Monday, January 29
Between some award-winning recipes at Family Corner, last week's Menu Plan Monday, and the February issue of Taste of Home Simple and Delicious (Orgjunkie is right--get your hands on this one!), I didn't have too much trouble getting February's menu plan done! I'll be posting it here a week at a time, because I do adjust as needed when things come up. (That's why my menu's in pencil, folks)....
SUNDAY: Tandoori Chicken, Orzo, Roasted Brussels Sprouts, raw vegetable platter
MONDAY: Balsamic-Maple Pork Chops, Brown Rice, Steamed Broccoli
TUESDAY: Spaghetti and meatballs
WEDNESDAY: Beef & Cheese French Bread (from the Simple & Delicious magazine, p. 31)
THURSDAY: Chicken Marsala
FRIDAY: Spanish Garlic Shrimp, Jasmine Rice (didn't make this one last week)
SATURDAY: Company's coming for dinner! We're having Sweet Onion Pork Roast, Mashed Potatoes, and a vegetable to be determined later. For dessert, Lemonade Pie.
Don't forget to visit the Hostess of Menu Plan Monday to get all the links to all the menus and great recipes!

So many tasty recipes---thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSounds yummy. What's Lemonade Pie?
ReplyDeleteHave a great Monday!
Hey Barb - Sound good! I saved the recipe for Roasted Brussel Sprouts also. I have not made them yet. Hubby likes them, but I have only tasted them once.
ReplyDeleteI love Tandoori Chicken, I wish the rest of the family would eat it! Your menu looks great this week!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Monday!
I'm so glad you liked the magazine too! Yum!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Laura
It all looks good but I want some of those shrimp!
ReplyDeleteSounds wonderful! Hope you have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteThat all looks really good Barb! I got a Taste of Home cookbook for Christmas, but I haven't had time to go through it yet. Will have to look for that magazine, I know Laura likes it :)
ReplyDeleteThe Pork chops sound good, as does that bread. Yummy!
Have a wonderful week!
My husband *looks* like a Brussels sprout (correct spelling btw!)He would eat them raw if he could. I saved the recipe too, and will use it at our next roast dinner.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that!
Hey, I found someone else who likes brussel sprouts! I'm definitely trying this recipe. YOur menu sounds delish!
ReplyDeleteMay I ask what sfo stands for?
Susanne, "sfo" stands for "Secular Franciscan Order." It is a group of people who are not priests or nuns but instead living in family life (or single life) and who strive to follow the example of St. Francis of Assisi in our own lives. There are SFOs all over the world, and we meet in small groups to support each other in this walk of life.
ReplyDeleteYour week sounds great! I will definitely post a review of the crock pot packets after we try them.
ReplyDeleteThese look great! I really need to make Chicken Marsala soon..I keep seeing it on others' menu plans!

Barb, thanks so much for answering my question. That's very interesting. I'd never heard of that before.
ReplyDeleteMmmm lemonade pie, I make that for get togethers in the summer. Sounds good right about now.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great week!
Lemonade Pie...my mom used to make this when I was little....
ReplyDeleteSo, do you shop for a month at a time? Or do you shop weekly? Inquiring minds want to know! :) Your menu sounds great and I still need to try the brussel sprouts. Tell me, do they taste anything like any of the other green veggies or do they have their own distinct flavor? Hope you have a great day! (sorry I'm a day late)
ReplyDeleteI shop each week. But we have an upright freezer, so generally I just shop to stock the freezer & pantry and get perishables. It's rare that we actually EAT the meat I buy on sale in a particular week, all in that week. It's spread throughout the weeks ahead.
ReplyDeleteBrussels sprouts do have a flavor all their own. If you like strong-flavored vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, etc. you will like them. I love the roasting recipe--it's so easy, and the results are amazing.
